Use of Crystals in your home

Crystals are used in feng shui in a variety of ways, all with one single goal - to create good feng shui energy in your home.

 The word crystal comes from the Greek word krystallos, meaning frozen light. Crystals have been used over the centuries for a myriad of purposes - from healing to protection to decoration.

In feng shui, crystals are widely used for the specific energy, or the vibrations they bring to your home or office. For example, the rose quartz crystal is used to attract love and romance, as well as heal a broken heart.

Natural rock crystals are one of the best feng shui cures for any home or office. Crystals come in many forms, and some of them, such as the geodes, generators or clusters, truly resemble a work of art. This makes it easier to decorate with crystals when other feng shui cures do not seem acceptable for a specific space. 

Let's look into the most popular crystal formations and their best placement in a home or office. We will start with crystal clusters, as often a cluster brings the most powerful energy to the area where it is placed. 

A crystal cluster is created by many crystal points emerging from one base. Crystal clusters come in various sizes - from less than an inch (2.54cm) to a foot (30.48cm) or more. Some of the most common, or easiest to find crystal clusters, are the Clear Quartz and the Apophyllite clusters. 

So, if you have a beautiful crystal cluster and are looking for its best feng shui placement to create harmonious energy in your home, consider the following tips. 

Because crystals bring strong Earth feng shui element energy into any space, it is best to place them in bagua areas that are either governed, or strengthened by the Earth element. For good feng shui, place your crystal cluster in one of these areas: 

- Center 

- Northeast 

- Northwest 

- West 

- Southwest 

It is best to avoid placing your cluster - unless it is really small - in the North bagua area. 

It is also best to avoid placing your crystal cluster right by your bed. 

2.Feng Shui of Crystal Generators

Crystal towers, also called generators, bring strong, grounding feng shui energy that is different from the energy of crystal clusters. While crystal clusters spread energy with a dynamic often resembling fireworks - aiming vibrant energy currents in many directions; the crystal generator works in a different manner. 

A crystal tower will uplift and purify the energy (if its point is not damaged), so you can place it in any area that needs to be re-energized with strong energy. If you place your crystal tower in an area with dense, low energy, be sure to cleanse your crystal often. 

Where would you place a crystal tower for best feng shui? Place it in an area that needs a grounding, stable, secure energy.

3. Crystal Geodes for Good Feng Shui

A crystal geode is truly a beauty to behold, a fascinating world in itself. Each crystal formation is, no doubt, uniquely beautiful. However, there is something about the energy of crystal geodes that feels like an endless exploration. Maybe it is because the cave-like shape of the geode has been long associated with meditation and mystery. 

Energy wise, the geode has very powerful absorbing, healing and transforming properties. If there is a crystal formation you would want somewhere close to your main door - especially if your house is on a busy street - then a crystal geode is definitely your best bet. 

Amethyst geodes are the most popular (and the easiest to find); they come in various sizes, some as tall as humans! To stand close to a big amethyst geode is to be showered in an amazing energy, but do know that even the smallest geodes possess powerful feng shui energy. 

You can find them in round, oval or vertical shape, and in many sizes. Celestite geodes have amazingly gentle, healing energy, and are becoming more and more available today. 

Feng shui-wise, a small round or oval geode can be an excellent addition to your bedroom or to your child's room.
